Hello Shiplover,
1943 or probably 1944 were handed over the KFK’s 198, 199, 201 and 270 (110 t, 1943 built) to the Romanian Navy. I search: Date, new name and the fate of the Kriegsfischkutter. Thanks Theo |

http://www.worldwar2.ro/organizare/?articl...=20&language=en and KFK article by M Whitley in The Warship nimber 39 of July1986 both mention only 3 KFK'S in the Royal Romanian Navy - KFK'S 198, 199 and 201 are noted in the latter article as the ones being transferred and these are noted as still being in service on 1/7/44. No KFK 270 is listed.
Third Axis, Fourth Ally by M Axworthy notes KFK's 198 199 and 270 ie still 3 vessels but 270 instead of 201 as being transferred in early 1944. The new names are noted respectively as Vanatori de Submarine (VS) 1, 2 and 3 and they are noted as being used for A/S work on coastal convoys. They formed the Secţia Vânătoare Submarine (Submarines Hunter Section). I have no reference to the fate of these vessels after 1/7/44. Perhaps they were seized by the soviets? |
