Another interest I have is collecting maps. I have about 8 Wehrmacht issued maps of areas in Romania. How difficult is it to get Romanian and/or German maps there?

As you live in Princeton, we can meet one day (when we can).
I can show you my geographical atlas from 1935, which shows many physical and economical maps of all countries (and of course, especially of Romania, because it is Romanian.)

However, you should know from now that my materials are not for sale or borrowing. But you can make some photos, if you want. Also, for a proper understanding of the map explanations, and of the tables with data, you need to know Romanian.

PS: We know each other (a little) from www.feldgrau.net

Florin,

Let me know your schedule and will see. There is a WWII public reenactment at Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia on April 17 with battles at noon and 2 PM. Will be able to see some original items as well. I will be there since I am a participant. I have an atlas from Romania dated in 1925 I think. I am in the process of trading 2 Eastern Front handmarked maps for 2 handmarked maps of Romanian and German withdrawls in 1944. These should come in handy for my next trip to Iasi.

Carol I,

Thanks, also looking at some instruments on Ebay Germany. I am planning to exchange 2 handmarked Russian and Ukrainian (1941 and 1942 maps for 2 handmarked Romanian maps (1944). Will hopefully post pics of maps to show.
