Hi guys,

Can somebody help me with this little (but very important:)) piece of information: I need stall speed for IAR-80 in clean configuration at loaded weight (or at any weight if specified). I'm trying to calculate CLmax for IAR-80 in order to clarify flight data for the upcoming presence of IAR-80 in Il2 FB. That's because I feel the data available to the developer is wrong: 22 seconds for 360 deg turn seems way too much (considering aircraft's power and wing loading).

PS Victor thanks again for your efforts, very nice forum upgrade.

Thanks Victor, I'm sorry I could not reply earlier.

Unfortunately the numbers you found are most probably approach speeds. IAR80 stall speed should be much lower, somewhere around 140kmh (flaps up, gear up), but I need confirmation from an original document. Even P-47C&earlyD stalled at 185kmh (same config), 200kmh for IAR80 is much too high.

Maybe you have the numbers in another source?
Thanks again, Victor.

In metric units, speed is measured in km/h, or - for the Americans - kmph, not kmh, which is a nonsense.

I've seen this pseudo-unit used in several US publications, including my own book published by Squadron/Signal, as I could not persuade the Texan editor that kmh is wrong...

Hi Denes,

I don't know if I understand you correctly.
All the speeds I gave are in Km/h, I wrote kmh in hurry.
As for P-47C stall speed is 115mph in clean config (flaps up, gear up) at loaded weight, which is aprox 185 km/h.
