Which was the most iportant thing the Romanian Army did?

The americans started their researches long before 1942, and they also benefited from the british experience of "Tube Alloys".

My opinion is that all the romanian military achievements have been underestimated by foreign historians and sometimes overestimated by romanian ones.
It is true that most of the time they fought bravely, but unfortunately courage alone does not win a war.
I believe the strategic importance of the romanian actions could have been far greater, had the romanian army been properly organized.

I dont want to be exagerated but the word "hord, hordes" is not a properly one ... even is very "dramatic". Lets consider them army units ...


By the other side we can think at "Operatiunea Romana de acoperire" - Romanian Operation of Covering - august-september 1944. In this operation, the romanian army hold the carpathyan passes thro Transilvania opened for the Red Army.
Anyway, this was only a logical consequence of 23 august 1944 act - for Germany was a dissaster to loose the romanian oil and cereals.

We can talk endless if 23 august 1944 were something good or something bad for Romania, if was an act of cowardness and an oportunistic one or a great courage etc, etc .... But for Axis forces, 23 august 1944 were for sure, a catastrophe.
