I'm curious about the trucks visible in the Gallery photo of R-35 tanks in 1940. The vehicle in the front rank looks a lot like a French Laffly field car, while the larger trucks visible in the background might be Renaults.

Are my eyes fooling me? Were French trucks used in any large quantities by the army; are these built under license; or are they of local design?

The Romanian army got from the Germans many vehicles from the defeated French Army. Most popular were the Gnome-Rhom motorcicles.

Thank you, C-2. I checked the Romanian hobby site for plastic modelers, and they did not list any French vehicles used by the WWII army. Glad to know that my eyes are still OK!
