Today I met a Stuka pilot-89 years old Mihai Belcin.
Unfortunatly couldn't take Victor with me since Mr MB wasn't fealing well. And I didn't want to disturb him too much.
Got some interesting stories and like allways I had some adventures with a dog..
This time it was the Tekel of MB dauther who was all over us :rollroll: :loool:

Today I called Nicolae Traian,a Blenheim pilot who was taken pow at Stalingrad,in order to meet him tomorow. He couldn't since he lost his driving licence and had to go to the police to take a new one....
I'd like to see the policeman's face when he'll see that NT was born in 1915 and has a driv.lic. since 1935

That is sad news indeed!
He was the most experienced Romanian dive bomber pilot, with over 300 missions. He was apparently proposed to be decorated with the Knight's Cross, but because of 23 August 1944, this did not materialize.

May he rest in peace!

Today I heard an interesting story about Bazu, from Dicezare:
Bazu use to moto-race during late 30's.He had a Norton but had no good results. So he bought another British racing motorbike, and use to lead the race the first 10 laps, then we was loosing ground and till the 20'th lap,he was loosing the race.He had problen in keeping up concentraition in a long race.
So he convinced the organisators to make the races shorter,(10 laps.)
Then he became a champion
Then one day Dicesare was invited to Bazu's house to dinner.
He had a penthouse ,at "The tail of Mihai Viteazu statue".There Dicezare met Bazu's(don't know what nr wife )Nadia Herescu.
Bazu wanted to suprise Dicezare, who has Italian origins and ordered frogs from a well known restaurant...
Only that Dicezare's family came over 100 years to Romania and prefered local food.
Nobody eat frogs that night....

Nadia Herescu was wife number four.
Btw, Dicezare's family came to Romania only some 60 years before. His father and grand-father were born in Italy.

Dicezare's father was born in the same house Dicesare lives today. That's in Bucarest -Romania.
Well I can't say IDC is easy to get to...From all the pilots he was the harder to get close to.Evan today, after knowing him for a few years ,I can hardly get an "apointment"with him.
Anyway, his a busy person,he is almost 88 and taking care exept of himself,of his two sisters(93 and 78).He is running with competence "Liga Aeriana".It's hard to find him at home....

Today with Dan Melinte,I visited Mr Titus Axente (night fighter Me 110).
He retold us a funny story:
His good friend Boris Capbatut, flew his 110,and was attacked and shootdown,by...Barbici,a 109 pilot. His telegrafist,Popescu, was killed while bailing out.Boris was burned a little, but maneged to bail and was recovered to his unit by a German pilot with a Stork.
The same evaning,Axente with his wife and Capbatut with his "to be" went to a famous restaurant at Dorobanti ave.
They started to selebrate his luck, when suddenly,a very cheerful Barbici came to their table and very proud anounce:" Guys,I've finished a Lightning!"..
F....k you said BC,"you've shoot me".
And after it they all selebrated all night.
Mr Axente couldn't tell if Barbici have registrated his kill.
