The book is about the first day of Barbarossa in air - 22 June 1941. Luftwaffe and ARR was involved in it versus VVS RKKA, was not it? From the Far North to the Black See. Mostly actions were between Baltic See and Black See.

Re: "Air Pogrom USSR. June 22, 1941 " in April 2015
A few new and good news, :-)

The publication contains 334 pages (size: 130 mm x 200 mm), including 16 pages of black-and-white photographs. Hard cover.

Publisher (Bellona) directed it to print on February 25th, 2015. Book when printed and bound should return to the publisher at the end of March of 2015. Then the publisher will send the book to sell at the beginning of April 2015.

The publication contains 32 black and white photos. Photographs have been thoroughly described them know what is (type of aircraft, what is this place, what aviation unit).

The photos are grouped according to the theater of war:

Northern Front - 2;
Northwestern Front - 8;
Western Front - 14;
Southwestern Front - 8.

Deciphering many places in the pictures, and based on them Soviet air units, was made possible through collaboration with Mikhail Timin from Moscow (Russia). Misha is undisputed in this area and a renowned expert.

The description of one of the photos:

"Stanislaviv's Hangar at the airport, where was the 12. IAP of the 12. IAD of 64. Army. Regiment had I-153 Chaika, I-16 and already withdrawn 9-12 I-15bis (used to make up for losses in the 247. IAP on 23-24 June). One of the I-15bis was waiting for repair, followed by ex-Polish PWS-26. The spring of 1941 in the 12. IAP served 2 PWS-26".

Sounds interesting. But what has the "first day of Barbarossa" got to do with "pogroms"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogrom

Pogrom means pogrom, spectacular victory, destruction. Border Soviet air divison (9.10.11. in Wester Front) were in fact wiped out by German.

This is not about Jews pogroms in June, July 1941 along Soviet Border in many places by German, Romanian, Ukrainian. Lithuanian and Polish citisens.

You need other book abou Jews pogroms in 1941, there are plenty such publication. Bogdan Musiał had edited in German and Polish such very good book.

There were of course earlier pogroms in NKWD's prison among Polish citisens, which did make great escalation od next pogroms after Soviet escape in a few days. Soviet admited to kill in prisons about 10.000 prosoners in June 41. Among killed were of course several tens of German POW including from Luftwaffe units too. I have a little metionet this but this is not main topics. A few men from III/KG 51 were MIA on 22.06.41 and later founded dead in Soviet prisons.

This is other thing.

QUOTE (mirekw @ February 28, 2015 08:12 am)
Pogrom means pogrom, spectacular victory, destruction.

Actually, "pogrom" does not mean "spectacular victory". (OMG!)

Do yourself a favour and check the dictionaries for what that word means.
http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/pogrom
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pogrom

Of course, it is your book and you can give it whatever title you want. But I think that the use of the word "pogrom" is very unfortunate and unwise. However, if you think that a "scandal" is the best way to promote your book, you are on the right track.

By the way, I am not trying to pick a fight with you. Just some friendly advice...

Thanks for explanation word "pogrom". As a Pole, I know what this word does mean in the past about: 70, 170 and 270 years ago or more.

Maybe you do not know but in Poland were installed by German
anihilation/extermination camps for Jews, Gipsies, Russian POW's soldiers in Birkenau, the first victims of Zyklob B and some Poles too.

Such a places like: Bełżec, Sobibór, Treblinka - for Jews plus of course Auchwitz-Birkenau (Oświęcim-Brzezinka).

My city Warsaw was of course destroyed by German in WW II very severe.

Frankly speaking I do not like to read/see remarks, which are out of point, or are political correct in XXI ceuntry fashion. I do not care them, are stupid.

People who did write Oxford, Merriam-Webster dictionary, you may belive or not, but did not nothing to rescue Polish citisens annihilated in extermiantion camps in WW II or in other places of German occupation, like Russia.

The same people from language correctness dictionares did not nothing to stop the next genocidy/pogroms in Ruanda in IV-VII 1994 ect.

When you look at Kambodja in 70 ties XX ceuntry and Khmere Ruge (Reds Khmers), the next big genocidy, the same efforts to "stop" them by dictionary professional.

Frankly speaking I do not care what on the West (EU) are writing in the dictionary about the pogroms - meaning.

The book is: printend in Poland; it is in Polish; written by Polish author; edited by Polish editor, directed on Polish market, and last but not least does not get any single 1 euro, or financial support from EU or other Europenian supply program.

Very thansk for your sincery remarks.

regards,
mw

The book is about the first day of the air war in the east - June 22, 1941. The Nazi Luftwaffe led to the rout of the border of the Air Force RKKA. Stalin had set his "red hawks" in airfields, next to the western border of the USSR, from May 1941.

Violent attack from the air and on land (Blitzkrieg) caused a hellish turmoil. Especially in the main lines of attack Germans on Northwest Front and the West Front (ie. Western Belarus).

Small, early destruction of the Soviet air regiments standing among near Liepaja, Riga, Siauliai, Kaunas, Vilnius, Grodno, Białegostok, Lida, Brest, Lutsk, Dubno, Lviv, Stryj, Tarnopol, Stanislaviv, Chernivtsi caused great confusion among the Russians. Their hysterical reinforcing patches of quick raids Hitler's panzer divisions.

As a result of rapid breaking the chain of command communication a lot of panic seized the Soviet border. To the complete disappearance above the Russians heads their "hawks" caused a gigantic, chaotic and hasty escape on the ground, away from the deadly Luftwaffe bombs. It multiplied the small successes of the Germans.

Rapid loss by the Russians own air shield, the first day of battles, led to a massive pogrom troops at borders. In many places, there was a mass defection from the front. German giant success later completed the liquidation of large encirclements, among others, near Bialystok, Minsk, Smolensk, Kiev, Wiazma, Briansk was crowned the winner June 22, 1941.

About how Germans quickly won the battle in the air that day, says book.

You may see (only for Polish readers) some parts of the book on the net. See the link:
