I don’t think it is Walther PPK seems to be too big, the Luger holster is unique in its shape, neither Walther P38 (http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/uniforms_firearms/firearms/p38/p38index.htm)...

It must be German, though it was probably modified after the war to be used with the American type of belt. I seen in Belgium, at a “bourse”, many German bayonets modified with the same type of belt hook.

It could be Walther PP holster.

Are there any markings, on the back, the second photo is not so clear.

Could you post some imagines of the interior?

QUOTE (C-2 @ Oct 9 2005, 04:27 AM)
How can you tell how big/small it is?

1. Distance "A" is 5 times smaller than the length of the whole holster witch indicates a large gun, not Walther PPK. “A” is the width of the German belt (5 cm).

2. Walther PPK (not PKK) is the smallest German pistol (K=kurz), and the charger is almost the same length as the gun, and holster. And you can see that the spare charger pocket of Claudius’s holster is much smaller than the entire holster.

3. Here is s picture of the Walther PPK holster.

I have a PPK replica it is of very good quality, completely made of steel, all parts work, very accurate even similar weight, removable charger, etc

99% is not going to fit into Claudiu's holster.

I know what I'm saying.

PS I’m going to post pictures tomorrow.

First you need to measure the extra magazine pouch. If it is aprox 140mm , the holster fit P08. If it is around 120mm will fit the P38 > If it is smaller as P38 , will fit the CZ38.The holsters for these 3 guns are very similar with the one in the picture, but not identical. The leather cord inside is for draw the pistol out of the holster

Hmm, interesting new set of photos Claudiu, the spare ammunition pouch has a semicircle cut at the top which fits with the Luger magazine, has that unique round gripe at the bottom of the magazine.

Here are some photos to be more convincing.

Claudiu's picture.

No, it was bought from Paris together with a Walther PPK; the price was 59 euro for the Luger and 55 euro for the Walther PPK.
They have all the parts moving and removable charger.

Here is the on-line shop (only in french). It is easier to use search (Chercher).

Believe you will discover that your holster, although German, is post war West German for the Walther P1 pistol. The U.S. GI belt bracket was added because we supplied the West Germans with our equipment belts. This same style holster was also used with the post war, West German police issued Belgian FN HPs and Spanish Star Model Bs - the overall size is the same, differing only in the size/shape of the magazine pouch. I'm not sure why the top of the magazine pouch on yours has been modified for the P08 magazine - I'm not aware of any post war West German usage of the Luger pistol.

The rag you found in the holster is typical of the type used for cleaning small arms.
