Amazing discovery of IAR80 no 371(Esc 44) remains. The airplane was shot down on 15.07.1944 by a Mustang, while defending Brasov area.


The Pilot:
Gheorghe Popescu/ died shot in air as the official report . I will add info's later.

You can see(if you have imagination!) the fuselage and cockpit of IAR 80 no 317 laying on left side, wings detached.

I hope you don't mind, however I would like to ask you if the land configuration resembles with that of photo. Excepting the vegetation of course. In the photo appears to be a plane field. (Could be another IAR fighter, maybe)
