Amazing discovery of IAR80 no 371(Esc 44) remains. The airplane was shot down on 15.07.1944 by a Mustang, while defending Brasov area.

Picture taken by investigators in July 1944.
 You can see(if you have imagination!) the fuselage and cockpit of IAR 80 no 317 laying on left side, wings detached. |

.I hope you don't mind, however I would like to ask you if the land configuration resembles with that of photo. Excepting the vegetation of course. In the photo appears to be a plane field. (Could be another IAR fighter, maybe) Regards, Alexandru |
