Unfortunetly the gate didn't survived. I was at Targoviste to check it The garrison it's still there ( called now "Petru Cercel) but there are a lot of new building and only few old barracks remains. An old guy who made the army there ( around 1970) remember the gate was still there. The place is called Teis. If it's not just a coincidence of names, then the barracks were later used by Soviet tank units (in the '50s) and then romanian (from the '60s)!

In the 1930's, there was the collaboration with Czechoslovakia to obtain Czech tanks. Were the Romanian crews supposed to travel to Czechoslovakia for training? What about the few tanks we had in the 1920's? Were those crews trained in France? Should I understand that all Romanian crews fighting on the Eastern Front traveled to Germany for training? |

No, of course not. There was a tank and motorized vehicles school (CIMM), but IIRC the Soviets disbanded it with the rest of the 1st Armored Division and a large part of the Army in November 1944. |
