An interesting book, although from a "controversial" author...
Worth mentioned that I read for the first time clearly stated that the German Army had NO INTEREST in actually instructing and / or imprving the fighting capacity of the Romanian Army. A little exaggerated, perhaps, but still true! The Germans could have done way more in the months preceding 22.06.41...

Larry Watts is a good historian but this idea is a nonsense.

Larry Watts is a historian ”gone native”, so to say... He somewhat romanised himself. As for the idea, nonsensical as it may be, I have not found any counter-arguments for what I just posted above. And there are more facts to support my hypothesis,, but this would require a separate topic. (Admins, please!)

"Aliaţi incompatibili" explică de ce teoria relaţiilor internaţionale a eşuat în explicarea comportamentului României în alianţă pe timp de război şi cum a reuşit să reziste cererilor colosului german pentru o contribuţie nelimitată la efortul de război al Axei.

That sounds rather vague. What theory of international relations did he choose to test? And to what behavior within the alliance he refers?
