On page 16 of the book "Insignele Aviatiei Militare Romane" by Marcele Iliese, there are drawings of a pilot badge and an observer badge with that type of Royal Cypher instead of the more usual national coat of arms. According to the author, this type of badge was planned but not minted.

It is interesting to note that some details of a "King Ferdinand" cypher are still visible on either side of the crown and below the curcle.

This could be a model from '27- '30.

Achilles, badge badge presented to you is a military pilot during the regency of minor King Michael I, was used for pilot badge issued in the period of King Ferdinand, which was applied effigy "M I".
Sorry for the incorrect translation.

It has some mistakes, but overall is a good book.

Beware the Aradian made fakes of the paratrooper badge inside the book - the badge is a BIG FAKE.
