The steamship "Romania" (3152 t) does not appear in RRN. It appears later, as Minenschiff ROMANIA passed to German 10. Sicherungsdivision (The 10th Sea Defence Division), formed in Jan.1944. Crew ?

ROMANIA, former romanian cargo and passenger steamship, built 1904, 3152 trb. 108 m, was transferred 1942 to the German Navy. Arms : 4x20mm, 80 mines. She served under german flag as :
03.1942, Wounded Transport Ship (Verwundetentransportschiffe), but no missions.
10.1942. S-boat Depot Ship (Schnellbootbegleitschiff) in the Crimea campaign (port of Sevastopol).
11.1943 Minelayer (minenschiff, minenleger). Spring of 1943, the minelayers Am.Murgescu and Romania lay several flank mine barriers before Sulina and in the Odessa bay.
From russian sources : in the spring of 1942, the Germans took this ship from romanians and put her into operation, Dec.6th. From the end of 1943, she was used as minelayer.
Enough rarely in sea missions.
