Thanks! What means reformed? And who was the pilot and his fate?
Looking at the shape of the propeller, I would say it was a crash landing, the engine was still working at the moment the plane touched ground. |

So, it is not known if it was a "battle casualty", I mean shot down during fight, or it was an accident due some I dont know what mechanical failure or human error? The name of the pilot is not known? I ask only because sometimes I saw amazing detailed story starting from only such lonely ww2 photo.

It was an accident. On 11 June 1944, no. 411 was flown by adj. av. Mihai Profir and had some problems with one of the tires. Wether he was the one that wrecked it or not it is difficult to say in the absence of more information. He no longer appears in the 2nd Fighter Group's roster on 22 July. Maybe he was injured in the accident.

"Reformed" is a "furculision" of the Romanian word "reformat". The English meaning is "Scrapped" or "written-off".
It is not clear who was flying the aeroplane when it crashed. Reports mention that it was an "accident" on Gheraesti Bacau airfield on 21 August 1944. Considering the way the propeller blades are still at a coarse pitch and all of them are bent back, the engine was still running when it hit the ground. It is possible that it suffered some kind of hydraulic failure that prevented the landing gear from extending and it belly-landed. The Soviet pilot pointing at the shot windscreen is Nikolai Ivanovich Dynich, Senior Airman of Soviet 523th Fighter Wing. The separate tyre incident mentioned by Victor took place on 11 June 1944 in Viisoara when it landed while flying from Ianca. HTH Radu |
