I wonder if is know any Romanian reccon flights done over Soviet territory before 22.06.41?
I know one incident, written from Sovite side, when in mid May 1941 Soviet pilot K.N. Myagkov of 67. IAP had met in air an "Rumanian Hurricane". He opended fire, claimed it as a victory, but this plane had escaped. I do not know any Rumanian Hurricane loss in this period or other fighter plane? Such reccon flights are know from Finish Air Force, which used to them one Blenheim Mk I with special German cameras in summer 1939 and also before 22.06.1941, over Leningrad, Kronsztad. So it is very possible that such secret reccon flights were also done by Romanian crews too? Regards, mw |

In one "Aripi Romanesti" magazine printed in 1943, a Soviet plane was mentioned as shot down in 1940 while performing its spy mission over neutral Romania. The Romanian pilot mentioned as victor was either Agarici, either a pilot already killed and commemorated in 1943. ( I handled that magazine in 1990, so I am not sure.)
