I'm researching the Luftwaffe units involved in the defence of Ploesti oil fields during the 1944 campaign against the US 15th Air Force (from April to August).
So far, my incomplete list contains: JG 52 (only during June) JG 53 JG 77 JG 301 (some elements) Were there any other german units besides these? Also, I'm especially interested in Fw 190, Me 410 and Ju 88 fighters that operated in Ploesti defence area. Any info, photos or color profiles perhaps? Thanks! The German Night Fighter unit was 10. and 11. /IV/NJG 6. Squadron 12. of this unit was the Escadrilele 51.Vanatoare de Noapte (later renamed Escadrilele 1.Vanatoare de Noapte), equipped with Me.110Cs. Escadrilele 51.Vanatoare de Noapte was converted to Night Fighter status, with the Me.110s in April, 1943.

In the middle of this short British documentary touching various topics, there are low level surveillance images of Romanian oil fields and Romanian oil refineries.
