Anything written on the back to give us any clue ? Absence of such info may render the ID process very verydifficult.

You do realize that the Romanian Army had thousands of officers during WWII, don't you? It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

yes, I do ”realize that Romanian Army had thousands of officers during WWII”, maybe I did not formulate my question correctly, by officers I meant maybe you recognize the Generals in the pictures.

in the first picture the first person from left (first standing row) looks like Colonel Radu Korne (later Brig. general) and the sixth person from left looks like Lt. general Nicolae Ciuperca and was taken maybe during the Siege of Odessa? please tell me if my assumptions are correct.

and in the second picture I think was taken in 1940, because of the helmets with the Carol II badge, also second person from left and second from right looks like Generals, I thought you recognize them...

Thank's

Hello,

unfortunately i cannot tell you anything about the officers. But because of the medals, the German officers are wearing i would say that the picture N° 2 was taken after the beginning of WWII 1939, that is for sure.
I would even say that it was taken after 1940, maybe 1941?

Has anyone else noticed - How in the second photo (with the German Staff Officers) the officer's face in the middle center of the top row has been perfectly circled out !? Seems odd huh.gif

Why are there 6 civilians and a child? There is also some activity there and the people tend to focus towards our left. They weren't posing, they were waiting for something. Maybe they are looking at/waiting for a parade of some sort?

Well, maybe he's a "copil de trupă" or something - I haven't got a clue right now about the English equivalent! tongue.gif

First person in photo is not Radu Korne. It is a second Lieutenant. The officers in the photo come from all different branches of the army. Cavalry, Infantry, Artillery and Air Force.
