I learned about Romanian 108th Medevac Unit on You Tube :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWf2ZKDOkeo&feature=related It is mentioned there : "The World's only squadron during World War II exclusively composed of women pilots." I know that Red Army had a squadron with women pilots using biplanes for night bombing. I do not know if that Soviet unit had also men pilots. If not, then the idea would be: The Romanian 108th Medevac Unit, the first in the world exclusively composed of women pilots. (The Romanian unit was created in 1939.) I am very proud for our brave aviator ladies ! This post has been edited by Florin on July 15, 2010 03:22 am |

That's not correct. There were also male pilots in that squadron. Gen. Dénes |
