21st of june 1941 Gr8 Vt. with 59th and 60th Squadrons are based on Focsani Nord airfield. At 18:15 they recieve the order to move on Ramnicul Sarat airfield and under the command of Fl. 1 Vt.
YOu can find the info in IAR-80 book of Dan Antoniu and George Cicos.

In june 1941, the Grupul 5 Bombardament was based on Zilistea airfield near Buzau. The airfield was shared with two famous german bomber units: KG 4 "General Wever" and KG 27 "General Boelke".

Just to further this question (thanks for directing me here, Thor), does anyone know if the bases of Roman and Bacau were used solely by the Luftwaffe at the start of Barbarossa, or were they shared with the ARR fighter units?
In "Odessa to Barbarossa" there are pics of a Fleet F10 that collided with a 109 of JG77. It was just a liason plane but it made me wonder.
Bacau in particular looks to be located fairly conveniently to the centre of the early action.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys
Many thanks for the attempt at help but unfortunately for me, when I click that link it opens two new tabs - one offering marriage partners, the other offering 'other' services, or at least pictures of 'other' services.
That doesn't bother me but the problem is that nothing actually happens with the download file!
I see that six people have managed to download it though. I'll try another browser.

Just tried Safari and Chrome. Got a manhood enhancement ad (complete with picture) that time but again no download.
Anyone know some trick I'm missing?
Thanks again for the effort.

Duuno! I used Iexplore 8 and it worked - not from the first try, but... it did! Try again, disable your option for not allowing cookies etc...

Well, thanks for the help but I'm afriad it doesn't work. I tried IE8, Safari,Firefox, and Chrome and just kept getting pop up bating and porn sites with them all. No idea why.
I do appreciate the upload though.
Can anyone who has the image kindly check the bases at ROMAN and BACAU to see which units or even airforces were there? No problems if you can't.

Wow - this is a super helpful, friendly forum.
Thanks a lot for the information and the link, MMM, Fanex and Muggs. I really appreciate the effort people are making.

I'm just trying to find out for a campaign about JG77 that I'm making for the Flight Sim "IL-2 Sturmovik" and I am trying to populate the bases correctly.

Well, I hope you finally got it, Flatspinman!
As for Bacău being an airbase, some really old people there (they were that old some 25 years ago, when I was a kid) were talking very nice about the Nazi planes and pilots (the exact words: "Nazi", not German or something else). They seemed to respect the performances of both men and machines, at least that's what I remember.
