Hello!
I don't have information about the war in this area (targu neamt) so if any of you can explain me what exactly happened here I'll be grateful.

All I know is that Romanians resisted here against the russians for about 9 months and their tanks couldn't pass the antitank fields until romania made peace with Russia . After this russians started to destroy all the bunkers romanians have built in the area. They brought thousands of dynamites to destroy them because were very well constructed .
I was today on the hills and i made some pictures....few of russian front and few of romanian bunkers and antitank thing.

Some villagers say that if you come here with some metal detectors you can find a lot of ammunition and grenades buried in the ground.

here were the russian trenches

Good idea, I would like, if possible, to know more about the war fought in the Tirgu Neamt area, especially in the zone near Timisesti village. When I was a little boy, I found two German helmets in the meadow of the river Moldova, one of them with a big hole in it.
My grandparents' old house was hit by Russian shrapnel, one of the walls was torn off and even the stove hob's crude iron door was full of holes. Their house was in front of the village's church, and the church's bell tower was used by the Axis as an observation and maybe sniping location.
After the war ended and the peasants returned to their homes from Transylvania mainly, my grandmother mentioned finding dead bodies of Wehrmacht soldiers near the church area. The peasants buried their bodies properly.

During the spring of 1944, the Timisesti are was defended by the Romanian 6th Infantry Division, which, together with the 20th Infantry Division, repulsed several assaults of the Soviet 51st Rifle Corps (232nd, 133rd and 42nd Guard Rifle Divisions) supported sometimes by tanks from the 5th Guards Cavalry Corps. One such attack was on 2 May, when the 51st Rifle Corps failed and lost 89 KIA and 379 WIA.
