why Dragos1984 ?

I think, he thinks that the liner's rivet hole is actually a bullet hole.

No he doesn't think the liner rivet holes are bullet holes. He know about ww2 romanian militaria. He said " poor basterd who had this helmet," because the helmet was found in the ground, and the person who had it maybe died in ww2.

"maybe, possibly, might have.. etc " are very much overused in context to relics or other items of militaria, unless this was found with the remains of a dead soldier, it could just have easily been dropped on the ground during fighting and left behind.

There is no proof either way that it was even lost in combat, no bullet holes, no shrapnel damage, no cracks etc..etc..

What is very obvious from the very good pictures, is that the item has been in the ground for a long time.

Always better to buy the item as seen & handled and NOT the attached story without proof.

Thats right I said the poor bastard, because I was thinking about the person who might have wore this helmet "and lost it" or died.
still its the real deal that saw combat at Stalingrad.
