In "theory", these are supposed to be tags that allowed the owner to be flown out of Stalingrad. Something like a "get out of jail free card".

In practice, however, I have never heard of these being used.

More info needed on these.

These turn up on ebay frequently in a square shape or round shape.

Supposedly ground dug in Stalingrad, no way to verify if they are what the seller

claims or if they have been made in somebody's garage recently.

Until evidence surfaces with one in wear (period photo) it stays in the fantasy

section and my money stays in my pocket.

No one doubts you found "something", I am doubting the authenticity of the items,

all I see are pictures of rusty tin objects.

Before I spend my money I need proof they are legitimate items, the WWW

militaria sites are full of fake third reich items, many from Russia, Poland, Ukraine

as well as the fakes / fantasy third reich items from the USA and UK.

Thats why as a rule of thumb I would expect to see the items have been

documented, if tied to the arm or in the papers of a wounded soldier being flown

from Stalingrad, some of these items should have turned up in Germany post

WW2.

Who is forcing you to buy it?
I thought the discussion of things are in other sections.
I did not see, I say to all ...

Nobody is forcing us to buy. The decision belongs to the buyer. But the seller's duty is to post a detailed description of the item posted for sale. Otherwise, discussions like these will happen.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Any opinion within the Rules may be posted on a PUBLIC Forum,

A member here asked what the item was, I gave my opinion.

I see you are not offering a guarantee to the authenticity of the "item"

or to return the money back if the seller is not satisfied with the "item"

To some people here, 17 US Dollars is not small change to be wasted.

Are these tokens mentioned in any document, book, etc?
Do these tokens show up in WW2 photos?
Do these tokens have a name, official or unofficial?
What is the origin of these tokens and how can that be certified?
Where are they manufactured?
Many tokens bear stamps or marks with some kind of serial number or manufacturer's badge to prevent counterfeiting. Do these bear such marks?

I am not saying that these are fakes, but so far I have seen no evidence that they they are genuine either.
