I turned on e-mail notifications, and not having received any I thought the topic died. I was busy these past few days and now that I'm back and with all this information here all I can say ... wow! Thank you guys!

He refused them because he stated he is very intimate with the feel of his plane and did not want any new factors coming in. Later on, he ran into trouble because of it ...

I have in my posession my grandfather's flight log book! It's a bit hard to decipher his handwriting
According to his last entry, he flew JU-88 #102, alt 5000m on April 19, 1944 to Lespezi.
The tally for 1943 is 86 hours and 10 minutes of flight time, 82 landings, 28 war missions.

Very interesting news! Can you share with us some pages, where some extraordinary events are mentioned (usually in the last column at right)?
Was the 19 April 1944 sortie the very last entry in the Logbook?
