a interesting image found on youtube about some romanian prisoners on western front in autumn of 1944. One of tre prisoners is dressed in "vanatori" uniform. Tha battle took place somewhere on a plain, in western Transylvania

The explanation of the speaker was brief: "rumanische gefangen"

Of course, one of the Die Deutsche Wochenschau

Unfortunately, I forgot WHICH of them.

I'm curious from what regiment was the "vanator"...

The main battle unit for the mountain troops was the battalion, not the regiment. The soldiers can only be members fo the 2nd or 3rd Mountain Divisions.

Right.
But the 90th infantry Regiment became, at 14th of April 1943, the 90th VANATORI Group, attached to the 18th Mountain Division

I am curious if this guy took prisoner (an officer?) could be from "90"

(the article is written by me, based on a official communist history of the regiment)
