Gradual, on the end of '80's years, the manufacturing of SR trucks was stoped and replace, all the way, by heavy-medium trucks ROMAN/DAC - MAN F8 patent (MAN - Maschinenfabrik Augsburg Nürnberg).

Here is a photo I took back in 1984 in Brasov, while I was a student there:

I believe it shows a DAC 665T of the Rumanian army.

P.S. I would like to note that taking photos of such military 'targets' during Communism was a very dangerous job, it might have landed the photographer in hot waters...

Hallo Denes,
I believe you are right about the fact that it is a military truck, but no, the DAC-665T is the 6x6 version, and this from the photo is surely the DAC-444T, a 4x4 version. Both (and many other) were produced in Brasov at the Intreprinderea de Autocamioane Brasov factory.

yeah, I was thinking that.....nice shot!!....how'd you get it without being detected, and/or shaking the camera? fast film?
(note to kiddies on forum: in olden days cameras used something called "film":a photosensitive emulsion coated on a plastic strip...the "fast" films were more photosensitive, but consequently blurred upon enlargement, unlike the shot of the truck) biggrin.gif

IIRC, I was using 21 DIN b/w film.
As for the circumstances of how I took the shot, I was walking up and down on the small street until no one was nearby. Then I took a photo of the house and 'accidentally' moved the lenses onto the truck, too. Something like that. I was sweating, for sure...
