The artillery section of the weapons page has the specs for a 37mm Rheinmetall AA gun model 1939. Is this the same gun that was in naval service?

The Rheinmetal 37 in Romanian Navy was used on submarine mounting and the standard AA mounting. It was produced under licence at Resita Works. Original documentation still exists.
The AA mounting may still be seen in Muzeul Militar National Bucuresti and Marine Museum Constantza. |

Excellent. Does the original documentation agree with the specifications posted here? Can you say how the weapon was adapted for submarine service? I would be happy to see any further information on the gun's performance.

I have the book of the gun for submarine service. About 80 A4 pages with drawings, specifications etc. What is strange is that no Romanian submarine of the period recieved such a weapon ( Delfinul, Rechinul, Marsuinul ). Instead they appear in pictures aboard Zmeul, Naluca and Zborul and the gunboats of the cpt.Dumitrescu class in 1941-1942. All the 1943 and 1944 versions were with AA mountings.
