hello again,
another hot question, in '44, P-47 D "BIG STUD" has flown over Romania in few mission?(or other P-47 with checkertail markings)If you have any color profile,I appreciate.

I found this in the book "CHECKERTAIL CLAN THE 325TH FIGHTER GROUP IN NORTH AFRICA AND ITALY" .What it is?

no P-51 until May 24th '44 in that FG .Only after 27th May.Many P-51 B,C,D

They are escort missions but I have some doubts about the data in this outdated book.
The first Mustangs (31FG) mission over Romania was on 21 april '44 in that "bloody day". IAR 80-81 pilots were not aware of this new fighters over Romanian sky ending the day with heavy looses.
P-47 from 325FG were used in may'44 in one or two escort mission to Turnu Severin (Romanian border only). From the border the bombers were escorted further to Ploesti by P-38 fighter groups.
