Dear friends,
By the beginning of the XIXth Century (arround 1820) existed this "Hungarian Geographical Service" (maybe the translation is not quite exactly); although I tried to find something about it on internet, I could not find anything. Does anybody know which were its atributions, where was its heaquarters, any other details... Thanks a lot, Cipri |

If you could give us the original Hungarian name [perhaps Magyar (Királyi?) Földrajzi Szolgálat?], then we could be more successful in identifying this particular service.

Unfortunately, I do not know the exact name, but I know for sure that a colonel named Pulzer made the cartography of the Oituz (Ojtoz) valley and he was member of this service in 1821 (absolutely sure). I knew about the Hungarian Geographical Society(Magyar Földrajzi Társaság) but I do not think it is the same. Anyway, thanks a lot!
