I found somebothy who sold me a medal from 1760 celebrating the marriage between Iosif the II-nd and queen Elisabeth. The medal has a date on the back "6 oct. 1760". I gave 100 euro for it. I think i made a good barging but i need an expert opinion...

its hard to judge when you dont show any pictures, please scan or photo the item. And 100 euro sounds like a lot of money to spend on a medal you are not even sure about  Kevin in Deva.  |

As I know, Iosif II was married twice, but the names of his wives were Isabella de Parma (October 6, 1760) and Maria Josepha (1764) (Princess of Bavaria). No Elisabeth in his wedding certificates...
If the medal is made from silver, 20-22 mm in diameter, then it is a wedding token. If it is larger (silver or bronze), then is a medal. This post has been edited by BG7M on October 19, 2006 12:08 pm |
