I suggest you might try finding Dutch helmets that have been refurbished (the liner was also changed but made to the same pattern) post war for the police and are painted black / dark grey and repaint them. I use them they were cheaper to buy and in a lot better condition than the ones used by the Romanian ones post war.

Bread bags hard to find but the communist era ones are the best.

Belt buckles originals are collector items as they are very very rare communist ones would be the best choice.

Two want originals for collection. Also, one can have the mold made for reproduction buckles (of course they would me marked so you would know this).

Emailed two people I know there about helmets and looking for Dutch helmets online. If anyone has links let me know!

Probably if I would have posted a scan in any other language than English you would have said the same thing. wink.gif

The translation of the first paragraph:

The different models of bread bags used by the long gone NVA (t.n.: Nationalen Volksarmee = National People's Army not North Vietnamese Army laugh.gif ) and Bundeswehr are similar to those produced for the Wehrmacht and can easily be confused, also they are frequently proposed as originals. Fortunately, most of them have an internal separation that allows us to identify them, but how common is this?

Here is a more helpful scan from the same article:
user posted image
The text encircled in red refers to the three bread bags below. The translation: The bread bags model 1887 (in the middle) and those made after WWII (above) have an internal separation, creating two spaces, this separation is missing on those produced for the Wehrmacht (below).

PS I hope you have noticed this post dry.gif:

Mihnea is right, German items are easy to find in the US however anything resembling Romanian is difficult.

Just one question: Did it made any difference if a ( for example) panzer-grenadier wore a khaki one instead of( let`s say) a light green one ?? Was there any difference in the army ( i mean that ( for ex) the SS wore light green, the wehrmarcht wore khaki, etc ) And if the socond question is a "yes", can you realize it`s period of use or front ? After you answer i will post pics with my german breadbag wich seems ww2.
