The large gun in the second picture seems to be a Mauser 98k (or a VZ24) rifle with the wooden stock eaten away by time... I recognize the shape of the bolt mechanism and the magazine fitting in the receiver.
Hope it's the thing you were talking about! |

Yes it is.
Those weapons and helmets are given by the students and are found in the area. They put everything they got there. -------------------- ~

According the new romanian firearms law, any spare gun barrell is considered a weapon, and I can bet the school principal have no licence to keep them(even as wrecks!)!Beware!

Read what happened to another 'relic museum' a couple of years ago: Mos Adochitei a fost amendat de politisti pentru ca cinsteste eroii (Ziarul de Iasi, 13 September 2004).

Including hand granades ? Wonder if the principle knows the difference if the grenades are still live or not. This post has been edited by REGAL UNIFORMA COLECTOR on August 06, 2006 01:07 pm |

There's a German MP-40 SMG in that hoard, together with a Russian PPSh-41, the later minus its wooden stock (like the Mauser-type action pictured).

Yes, Ruy, and another PPSh barrell and action cover under the helmet, plus two Mannlicher barrels...

I think the police knows about those weapons, at least the one in the village.
That's a sad story with the old man. At least they shouldn't had fined him. -------------------- ~
