Anyone have info and/or pictures with this yacht? I think - was the most beautifull ship of Romania. Can we build his history? Because she was part of our history: 18 octombrie 1938, at Galati harbour, on this yacht is a meeting between romanian king Carol II, foreign affairs minister of Poland, one german colonel and our foreign affairs minister.

What can be write in her C.V.? Were was in ww 2?

The Nahlin was built in 1930 at the Brown shipyard in Clydebank. It was bought by Carol in 1937 and rebaptized Luceafarul.

- dimensions: 250 (waterline), 296 (over all) x 36 x - feet
- machinery: 4 Brown-Curtis geared turbines, 2 shafts
- speed: 17.5 knots

Short description and some photos of the vessel on the page of the Institute for Cultural Memory: Nahlin - Luceafărul - Libertatea. As an interesting note, on 14 July 1998 Ministry of Culture put the vessel on the "Heritage list", only to be sold one year later...

My father is an amateur naval historian, and I know for sure he has some plans and information about this ship (as well as many others). Unfortunately, he resides in Constanta and I in Bucharest, so, although I talked to him on the phone and he is willing to share the information, it might take a while till I can get it scanned and posted on the forum.

The English sold Libertatea, or Nehlin as it is known now to some company in Germany. The ship was moved from Liverpool to Hamburg in July 2005. Anyone has any more news on this? I guess the Brits decided it was to expensive to restore it after working on it for 3 years. I saw some photos on the net, and it sure looks better than it din last time I saw in in Galati in 1998.
