QUOTE (D13-th_Mytzu @ Nov 4 2005, 11:26 AM)
Any news on this book ?

YES !!

In the last issue (no.30) of Air Magazine, the editor Mr. Jose Fernandez announces the finish of “subscription” period of time for several books. So at last, the IAR-80 book will appear soon probably in March-April 2006.

Price 50 euro, plus shipping.
For Europe shipping is 10 euro. sad.gif mad.gif

Can you give me the e-mail address of the company? Thanks.
What are the other books the subscription period ends for?

I believe 50,00 Euros is rather high price for such a book.

Of course: airmagzine@wanadoo.fr
Maybe you need also:
Tel: 01 43 47 35 16
Fax: 01 43 47 34 37

The other books are: “Les aviateurs polonais en France”, “Les bombardiers sovietiques DB-3 et Il-4”, “Polikarpov I-15” and “Mitssubishi G4M Betty".
In the editorial J.Fernandez sais about « IAR-80 » and « Les aviateurs … » books: « Ils sont en cours de finition et d’impression. Ils seront disponibles dans le courant des moins de février/mars »
On the other hand, later in the magazine, where you can find a “Bon de commande” for all these books, there is written: “ certains de ces ouvrages sont en cours de finition et risquent de ne pas etre disponibles avant le moins d’avril ”
huh.gif
So April 2006 is a more realistic deadline also for the IAR-80 book.
And Denes, shipping “vers le reste du monde” is 18 euro !!
Maybe it’s a very tick book ?! Tick as a Brick. wink.gif

Hi MaxFax,

Wasn't there also a book by the same company on Romanian Bf109s?

Cheers,

Sid.

Thanks, MaxFax. Is the spelling correct (without the third 'a')?
So the total price would now be 68 Euros (incl. postage). I truly hope it will indeed be 'Thick as a Brick' and 'Good as Gold'. blink.gif

QUOTE (MaxFax @ September 10, 2003 08:03 am)
A new revised edition of the "Vanatorul IAR-80 istoria unui erou necunoscut" by Antoniu & Cicos, will be published by TMA Editions in this fall (September 2003). Ofcourse it will be in French !
Seulement pour les connaisseurs 8) !
The announcement was made in the "juin-juillet 2003" issue of Air Magazine.

After over 4 years blink.gif of the initial announcement in the French magazine "Air Magazine", it seems we are very close to see at last this book printed.

Hi Guys,

It would help if the publisher would answer my international phone calls on the subject! Having sent the money several years ago, the least they could do is to answer enquiries from those of us who put our trust in them.

The following is the text of the publisher's advert:

TMA Editions
75 rue Claude Decaen
75012 Paris France

IAR 80
Dan Antoniu

The only fighter fully Rumanian of the WWII

Its developement, war participation with the Luftwaffe against the USSR
along Barbarossa and from 1944 on the allies side.

A classical Warbird,
deeply studied for the first time.

More than 250 pages.
Hundreds of pictures, details from constructor manual,
Plans of the various versions at the same scale,
Dozens of color illustrations.

50 €

I very much want this book and I hope it will, indeed, be out soon. Dan Antoniu has an international reputation as a researcher and with any luck colour illustrations will be by the excellent Liviu Moresanu, who illustrates TMA's first class, bi-monthly magazine "AirMag".

Sid.

Hi Sid,

The book will be printed in Romania and will be out on the market round December. Number of pages 300, number of photos, color profiles, scale drawings, etc ~ 900 (!!). Price 50 euro.
If you have been a subscriber in this regard, you will have it for less money. Probablly ~ 40 euro.

For Romanian customers, the book will be available for sale through AeroMagazin. Remember Aeromagazin wink.gif ?!
A new issue of AeroMagazin will be available also soon before December.
