The auxiliary minelayer AURORA is well known. There is a nice photo
in WARSHIP 1991 I have her as a Danube steamer of SDR built 1909 at Taranto as L.M.R. 3 49.05x7.97x2.20 m 550ihp Reported lost 14 July 1941 (Soviet sources listed as lost 15 July 1941) The only shipyard in Taranto know in that time was Franco Tosi. I am looking for her originals (for whom built, etc) and eventually more data as a merchant vessel. In Taranto were also built: AMUGRUL (1909) which served as an auxiliary minesweeper of the Danube flotilla. She is not listed as a Romanian merchant vessel , so I am also interested in her origins prior to 1940. ELENA (ex G.N.F. 2) built 1916 screw tug 34.69x5.90x2.07m 750ihp She served as auxiliary naval tug Reported sunk in November 1942 Als her fates prior to 1940 , and final fate (why and by whom sunk)? |
