Interesting, but nothing new really. biggrin.gif
The reporter that took the interview made some mistakes, as I very much doubt general Dobran made them:
1. The Mustangs couldn't climb just to 1,400 m, maybe 14,000 m! The same for the Gustavs: 11,000 m instead of 1,100!
2. It was the Il-2, not the Il-1.
3. The Normandy landing was on 6 June 1944, not 6 August.
4. Heinkel-111, not Heinkel-11
5. It was Cpt. Ion Profir, not Ion Profit

I noticed some of these mistakes too. However, the article was written by someone who writes for living, not for fun like most of us.

This is exactly why he should have shown more professionalism and documented himself on the subject.

What book he wrote?

During wartime, Mr. Dobran kept a personal diary, which was recently published by Modelism. For detailes, see http://www.modelism.ro

I had a chance to see the original diary at Mr. Dobran's and it's indeed a minuscule format, approx. 60mm x 40mm, with notes written in pencil.

It's truly a unique first-hand testimony of those times and therefore it's well worth buying the book.
