He was the leader of the "Totul pentru tara" party until his death (this party was the political arm of the Iron Guard). He was also a volunteer in the Spanish Civil War (on the Nationalist side). Some sources claim that he had an affair with Queen Mary when he was younger.

General Ioan Stângaciu who received the Order of Michael the Brave on 27 October 1916 having the rank of major.
