In what way is the crown different? What about other details? What books are you referring to? Please share with us your information.

Here are two more images of the same badge.

I have a romanian book of royal medals from 1860-1947.It has all the medals from that period. The colour of the medal is different and the crown is also diferent .It's a good replica but not that good. They tried to make an original of this medal, but they failed.

I don't think that this book makes you a specialist in romanian orders! I have also this book and some others! The only way to became specialist is to see ( live) a lot of orders, visit the Romanian National Archives and ....a lot of study!!!
A different design from a crown doesen't mean immediately that the order is a copy! This order is OK!

I do not think that a direct comparison of the colour of the enamel in the two photos can yield a valid conclusion as they could vary a lot because of the light. Besides, the rendition capability of the Romanian printing houses in the beginning of the 1990s was ... not perfect (to say the least).

Now about the crown. I have compared the two crowns and I could not see any differences in shape. The only difference that I have noticed is the long suspension device of the cross in the Safta et al book. That is an interesting detail, but the National Military Museum has on display badges with a short suspension device, similar to the one of the badge above.

What else is different? Why do you say this particular badge is a replica?

An example is the War after 23 august 1944.

The Catone et al book does not have any image of the Order of Michael the Brave with swords.

Does this one have images of the Order of Michael the Brave with swords? I would be surprised.

This is the Safta et al book with the badge with long suspension device.

Do they have images of the Order of Michael the Brave with swords? How do those badges differ from the one we were analysing here? You did not answer this question.

This looks like late war production. Very crude mfg crown. The gilting of the cross and the color blue of the enamel look correct for 1944 version. Copies will have a cleaner and brighter enamel look to them.
