What is the best reference on Romanian warships of WW2? If you're familiar with Groner (German), Silverstone (American), or Lenton (British), you'll know the sort of book I'm looking for. Right now I'm trying to find a comprehensive list and description of the vessels themselves, rather than a history of their operations. I'm pretty sure there's nothing good in English, so I guess any language will do.

You'll find some valid refferences in "Janes Fighting Ships of WW2" album (including pictures). It's expensive, but it worths. Not all the ships are posted, but whatever info they provide is accurate. Remember that the armament described there is the one mounted at the beginning of the war, if not stated otherwise.

Thanks for your response, Dr V. I have had a look at the Jane's book, but it makes me nervous. I have found some of the statistics like displacement to be off by as much as 30%. I suppose this is because the editors rely on contemporary data which is subject to misinformation and disinformation.

Conway's All The World's Fighting Ships 1922-45 is similar in coverage to Jane's but is based on more up to date research. It has limited coverage of Romanian vessels.

Is there anything that covers the minor craft like naval tugs and such?
