What year did the Romanian cavalry stop using the Austrain style peaked cap that was used during W.W. I?

You mean the capela? It was not only specific to the cavalry... And it was not an Austrian model, taking in account that Romania was Austria's enemy in 1916.

I do not know the correct name of the cap and that is why I likened it to the Austrian style cap (Yes, I do know that the Rumanians were allied against the Central Powers in W.W.I) since it has a flap that rises up in the front. I also know that this cap was used by most arms of service in W.W.I by the Rumanian forces. However, I have seen this cap shown in two distinct forms and do not know which is correct. One shows the cap with the peak flap just in the front and the other shows the cap with peak flaps in the front and the rear of the cap.
I guess I would like to know two things. Which representation of this cap is correct and approximately what year did the Rumanian cavalry stop using this cap in service?

Unfortunately, I cannot post pics... But the capela was still used by Romanian cavalry until 1947.

Dear Geto-Dacul,
Thank you for the information. I had a feeling that the Romanian cavalry kept their distinctive cap in the same way the Polish cavalry kept their national style caps. Luckily I did finally find a good illustration of the cap after an extensive web search.

Unfortunately I cannot help you, as WWI is not one of my stronger points.

During WWII, the Romanian officers had two official types of caps:
-the model 1939 boneta
-the capela, which was introduced in 1943
Both had peaks in front and in the back.
The mountain troops and the tankers were the only ones which did not use the capela. The infantry, the cavalry, the pioneers etc. wore it.
