Hi, I have a question:
in the OOBs/TOEs of the artillery units and some AT units, there sometimes appear LMGs (for example in the Arty Btls of the Cavalry Artillery Regiment in 42). Now my question: were those just LMG teams (e.g. 3 men) or did the Battalions have squads of infantry attached ? And, if they had, how were those organised, did they see combat (I know from my own experience that artillerymen get issued weapons but would not use them unless really necessary and if necessary there might be a chance that they forgot how to) and were they attached to the single batteries or to the Battalion (e.g. in the HQ company). many thanks, cheers, luer |

Sorry, I could not find any mention of LMG teams attached to cavalry artillery battalions.
The only use of the ZB 30 LMG by artillery (that I know of) batteries was in an AA role. |

thanks Victor, that is a good piece of information. I will assume that ll the other LMGs that appear in other artillery TOEs as well were in the AA role. In accordance with the TOEs of other nations, they will be left out of the OOBs now.
Thanks, Luer |
