I red the other day victories of the aces of many countries involved in WWII. I was shocked by finish scores for ex and over 250 victories of german pilots.
Plus I red a list of Romanian aces, I think researched by Denes (on aviatia.ro). 1. What were the differences between Romanian, German, Finish etc scoring systems? 2. Was there any international system? Barbosu |

There was no "international" system.
For the Romanian victory points system read here: http://www.worldwar2.ro/arr/aces.htm Please browse through the site first if you have more questions. Maybe the answer is there already. |

Thanks Victor. I already red almost entire site and also the aces section and the victories list.
Please note that my question is not what was the Romanian system (as described on your site), but what is the difference between victories and points? Also, what were the German, Finish etc systems? Barbosu |

1 victory=1 kill no matter how big the aircraft was. As far as I know only the Romanian and Bulgarian Air Forces used a victory point system during WWII. The Luftwaffe also had a point system, but not for kills. They were for winning different awards: Iron Cross, Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross etc. Thus a large bomber was considered more important than a fighter. For example, a pilot that shot down K bombers could qualify for the Ritterkreuz, while a pilot that shot down N fighters couldn't, even though K<N. |
