Scharlota Cpt. Popesen a Rumanian pilot-woman??

Fruntas Group: Members Posts: 76 Member No.: 54 Joined: July 23, 2003	I have an info, that a Rumanian pilot woman, Captain(!) Scharlota Popesen died in her wounds in Military Hospital of Nyíregyháza, Hungary on 24 January, 1945. Anybody have some details about this unfortunate babe? Thanks, Csaba

Admin Group: Admin Posts: 4368 Member No.: 4 Joined: June 17, 2003	I have a long list of Rumanian soldiers burried at the Nyiregyháza cemetery, Hungary, containing the names of 308 soldiers. Many names are spelled erroneously. Under No. 294 there is indeed "Scharlota, Cpt. Popesen" listed, burried on January 24, 1945. However, it's not mentioned if he/she was an aviator or not! During the so-called 'Western Front', no Rumanian aviator called "Pope..." was killed by the end of January 1945. Dénes
