General de divizie Group: Members Posts: 1386 Member No.: 319 Joined: August 04, 2004	Bulgaria had Me109 (some 145 planes in "G" variant), Avia (Avia B-135B had 547 km/h, more than IAR 80/81), Dewoitine 520. How succesfull was Bulgaria in defence against USAAF? Iama

General de divizie Group: Members Posts: 1386 Member No.: 319 Joined: August 04, 2004	On 30 march 1944 several Fighter School instructors managed to bring down a four-engine B-24 Liberator with their 7.92mm MG.Bulgarian planes dont have the 20mm canon. They were on Avia B.135B. (Nice aircraft. Its one of my favorites). Iama

Because i read about an event with "podporuchik" M.Grigorov, who shot down two Lightning over Skopie, in Macedonia on 21st octomber 1943. Iama

That was more like a "house arrest" for him, not a very enviable situation.

Last Summer, I met in Sofia Stoyanov's son and he told me interesting stories about his father.
