The 1st-8th Line Infantry Regiments, the 1st-4th Vanatori Battalions and the 5th-8th Dorobanti Regiments were equipped with the 10.314 mm and 11.43 mm Peabody rifles model 1868. The 1st-4th and 9th-16th Dorobanti Regiments were equipped with the 15.24 Krnka rifle model 1877. The vanatori battalions also had one machine-gun: the 1st had a 10.57 mm Gatling-gun with 10 barrels model 1875; the 2nd had a 11 mm Christopher&Montigny with 37 barrels model 1872. The officers were armed with model 1872 infantry swords and model 1874 revolvers.

The 1st and 2nd Rosiori Regiments were equipped with the 15.43 mm Dreyse carbine model 1867, the model 1863 cavalry sword and the model 1862 lance (for the first row). The officers and NCOs had the model 1873 cavalry swords and the 11.3 mm Galand-Lebleau revolver model 1874. The 1st-8th Calarasi Regiments had the 15.43 mm Dreyse carbine model 1867, the model 1851 and 1863 cavalry swords. The officers and NCOs had the model 1873 cavalry swords and the 11.3 mm Galand-Lebleau revolver model 1874. In January 1878, the 8th Calarasi Regiment was equipped with Peabody-Martini carbines captured at Pleven.

All the Dreyse rifles were given in June 1877 to the militia troops, after the Krnka rifles had arrived from Russia.

From what i remember - i forgot the source - Dreysse rifle had inferior range for his bullets, and i think was so hard to fight with an enemy who can shot you at a long distance.

Any pics with machine guns? Was moved by horse?

Only the 2nd Vanatori Battalion used its Christopher & Motigny during teh assault on Grivita, but it was concluded that the weapon was not suited for offensive, being to difficult to deploy under fire and it wasn't used anymore. I suppose it was towed by horse, as it was similar in weight with a medium gun.

The Ottoman Army was made up, like most armies of that time, of permanent and territorial troops:
-nizams: regular troops
-redifs: reserve troops
-mustafids: militia troops (men that had served in the previous two categories)
-muavans: territorial troops
-bashbuzouks: volunteers

Yes, the irregular cavalry you mention could be similar to the 14th-16th century akinjis.
