In the 30s, the mountain battalions were garrisoned in the following areas:

-Apuseni mountains: Zalau (Meses Mtn), Abrud and Aiud (Trascau Mtn), Caransebes (Semenic Mtn) -Eastern Carpathians: Sighet (Gutii and Maramures Mtn), Bistrita (Bargau and Caliman Mtn), Sf. Gheorghe (Baraolt and Bodoc Mtn) -Transylvanian Alps: Sinaia (Bucegi and Baiului Mtn), Predeal (Piatra Mare and Baiului Mtn) I think there were some training camps in the Fagaras Mountains, but not in Piatra Craiului. The same here. Note the distinctive white socks worn by the mountain troops.
