My question is about Luftwaffe units that were using romanian airfields on 23 june 1944, so far I know about these ones:

Mizil:

Stab III/JG77 flying Bf109-G2
8/JG77 flying Bf109-G2
7/JG77 flying Bf109-G6
4/JG301 flying Bf109-G6

Targsorul-Nou:

Stab I/JG53 flying Bf109-G6
1/JG53 flying Bf109-G6
2/JG53 flying Bf109-G6
1/JG5 flying Bf109-G5
6/JG301 flying Bf109-G6
10/JG301 flying Bf109-G6

Roman:

Stab III/JG52 flying Bf109-G6
7/JG52 flying Bf109-G6
8/JG52 flying Bf109-G6
9/JG52 flying Bf109-G6

Zilistea:

15/JG52. (kroat staffel)

As some of you already know I am mainly interested of finding out which Luftwaffe units got airborne to intercept US raid over our oil raphineries, so fi you have any info on this please let me know.

At first glance, there are several problems with this German origin Order of Battle, related to ARR units (currently I am not at home, so I can comment based on my memory only).

QUOTE
L.R. Reconnaissance:  Rum. 102.(F)ASt. Vikov                   -11  Rum. Type

Rum. 102.(F)ASt., or the 102nd Long-Range Reconnaissance Squadron, did not exist. No. 102 was a seaplane squadron.

QUOTE
Dive-Bomber: Rum. III. St.Gr. Caralmanesti - 24 Rum. Type

Grupul 3 picaj was equipped with Ju 87Ds, not Rumanian made aircraft.

QUOTE
Dive-Bomber: Rum. VIII. St.Gr. Matca - 39 Ju 87

The 8th group was a ground attack unit, not a dive bomber one. It was equipped with Hs 129Bs, not Ju 87Ds.

QUOTE
L.R. Bomber  Rum. IV. KGr.76. u. 78. K Staffel: Janca               - 15     Rum. Type
L.R. Bomber Rum. V. KGr. Ivesti                                            - 16     Rum. Type

The two squadrons of IV. KGr., or Grupul 4 bombardament, were equipped with P.Z.L. P.37 and He 111H-6, respectively - not Rumanian types.
V. KGr., or Grupul 5 bombardament, was equipped with Ju 88As - not Rumanian type, either.
QUOTE
Day-Fighter:Rum. 52. JStaffel   Mamaia                          -14 IAR-80

This squadron was equipped with Bf 109E.
QUOTE
Night-Fighter: Rum. 1. NJStaffel Otopeni                - 4 Bf 109

The 1st Rumanian Night Fighter Squadron was equipped with Bf 110s.

I have to check my sources at home for aircraft availability and locations.

Lt. Col. Dénes

I agree that german sources for this list has some errors regarding romanian units and aircraft type. But Mytzu wants only the german units. ( I didn't have time to extract them ) Anyway I suppose that for the german units the data is correct.
