Has any one got any career details on Fw Gerhard Fouquet who was awarded the DKiG 16Apr44 as a pilot with Verb.Kdo./Rum.Schlacht Gr. 8 which I assume is Gr.8 asalt (flying the Hs 129) Best Regards Andy Fletcher |

I studied, in depth, the activity of the Rumanian Grupul 8 asalt, but I didn't hear of this airman yet. However, it could very well be that he was posted to the Group as Luftwaffe liaison person (hence the Verbindungskommando reference) in a non-flying position.
What else did you find about him? Gen. Dénes |

Hi Dénes, The only info I have on him is what I posted (Source: Die Träger Des Deutschen Kreuz in Gold der Luftwaffe 41-45, Veit Scherzer). Like you I figured he was serving in a liason capacity but I believe the DKiG was usually awarded for operations especially for NCO ranks. A google search failed to find any additional data.
