Hello everybody!

I found some records of a minelayer called "Cetatea Alba", built in 1940(?) at Galatzi shipyard, a sister-ship to NMS "Amiral Murgescu".
Does anybody know if such a ship really did existed (as completed and operational or building during WW2 and never finished) and if it did, what happened to it?

Thanks!

Dr_V

P.S.: NMS "Amiral Murgescu" was a 812 tons minelayer, built at Galatzi june 14 1939, armed with 2x105mm+2x37mmAA+2MG+2DCT, max. speed 16 knots, crew 78, 135 mines.

Is 'Dr_V' the short of Dr. Weichnachten?

From my name, Vladimir. I prefere a short nickname, without any refferences to war caracters, movies or other things like that, though I know they're popular. I'm here because of my passion for war histoy and I don't think I need a "cool" nickname.

As for the doctor part, technically I am (I finished the med school), though I still have to pass one more test (Rezidentiat) and choose my specialty after that. So, mr. "C-2", you can conside me as a younger medic or a student, it's your choyce. Anyway, I salute you and I hope we'll get along allright.

Now, does any of you gentilmen have a clue about that minelayer?
