QUOTE (Tudor @ Mar 18 2005, 03:22 AM)
discussions are welcome, but otherwise "Hands off Transylvania!".

Mr. Tudor. Would you care to explaine to us your blunt warning? Because I don't get it: what else can we do here, on this discussion forum, then to discuss? sad.gif

Leave present-day politics to other sections. This is the pre-WW2 section, so please concentrate on events in the past.

Don't worry Mr. Denes. That line was not intended for you. I know a moderate when I see one. It's just my generic stance on some people who won't cool off, even nowadays.

However, Victor is right and we should get back to historical data. Blunt political dicussions are better suited for other places. Sorry for starting it. Just being oversensitive on the subject, I guess.

I found a very interesting idea expressed by Imanuel Geiss.. He stated (indirectly) that one of the problems for the A-H security was the creation of a unified Romanian state. A state based on a national idea that was at the border of an eterogenous (multiethnical) empire that comprised many Romanians (54% - in Transylvania).
The irony was that the unification was approved in order to stop the Russians and in time, inevitably, became a menace to the A-H empire.
